Malawi health sector employee census

The Ministry of Health, through the Centre for Social Research conducted a census of Human Resources in the Health (HRH) sector in November/December 2007. The key objectives of the census included obtaining primary HRH data and information in the form of a “snap-shot picture” of current availability, numbers, profiles, skills-mix, and distribution of trained health workers, including management and support staff, employed in registered public and private sector health facilities across all districts of Malawi.

Malawi Health Sector Strategic Plan 2011 - 2016

The Malawi Health Sector Strategic Plan (HSSP) (2011-2016) is the successor to the Program of Work (PoW) which covered the period 2004-2010 and guided the implementation of interventions aimed at improving the health status of the people of Malawi. The Ministry of Health (MoH), other government ministries and departments, Health Development Partners (HDP), Civil Society Organisations (CSO), the private sector and other stakeholders in the health sector were involved in the development and implementation of the PoW which was extended to June 2011 to allow for the final evaluation.

Malawi National education sector investment plan 2020-2030

In the Government of Malawi (GoM) development agenda, education has always been one of the national priorities since independence in 1964. Education has constantly been considered as one of the tools for socio- economic development of the nation. After independence, the Government through the American Council of Education conducted a survey to assess and determine the needs of formal education as the basis for improvements in the education sector and this was linked to economic progress from 1964 to 1972.
